The Startup Academy is a training program for migrant entrepreneurs in The Netherlands. During the training program you work on your entrepreneurial skills, develop your business idea and work towards the actual start of your business.
Curriculum
The training program consists of the following modules:
- Think like an Entrepreneur Work on your entrepreneurial skills and discover how your business builds up society.
- Design your business model. Use the Lean Startup way of thinking and the Business Model Canvas framework to create a business plan that works for you and helps you to explain your business idea to investors and partners.
- Test your assumptions. Go out on the street and test everything you have assumed on potential customers and partners.
- The first steps of your business. Learn how to postpone financial investments and risks or avoid them at all. Design your Minimum Viable Product (MVP). Learn more about Dutch business culture, taxes, administration and legal structures.
The training consists of 32 sessions of 3 hours each.
Coaching
On top of the training sessions you will get 10 hours of individual coaching, to help you reflect on your business idea and more personal issues.
Community Event
Every two months Itzinya organises the Community Event: an inspiring where entrepreneurial Dutch people and entrepreneurial migrants meet. As a participant of the Startup Academy you get the opportunity to pitch your idea on the center stage.
Practical information
The course starts a few times a year. And is often held in Dutch. But we do have an English version as well if there is enough demand. Please continue on our Dutch website to learn more.
